The mother temple or Besakih Temple and the lake temple or the Tanah Lot Temple are some of the most important temples in Bali and we will visit them among others, on this three-night tour based in the town of Ubud.
Surrounded by jungle and a lot of local life, we will also admire rice terraces that are already part of the important UNESCO list and we will witness one of the most beautiful sunsets in western Bali. With your local guide you will know first-hand everything related to Balinese culture and how this unique tradition in the world has endured for so many years.
Explore Bali temples
Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport, you will find your driver waiting for you with a sign with your name to take you to the hotel booked in Ubud. Welcome to the island of the Gods.
Ubud is an area of rice fields and unspoiled nature located in the center of the island. During the journey you can already discover the different towns of Bali, each one specialized in one of the many typical crafts, with woodwork, stone sculptors, silver goldsmiths or painters. You will begin to notice the essence of Balinese culture, the thousands of temples that dot this island and you will feel the aroma of incense that perfumes all of Bali.
We will drop you off at your hotel where you will check in and have the rest of the day for you. Welcome to Indonesia.
The first site will be the Taman Ayun Temple (it was founded in the 17th century), located in the Mengwi Village that until 1891 was the seat of a powerful king who dates back to the Gelgel Dynasty, which is surrounding by a moat that looks like a landscaped sanctuary, which explains the term taman, or garden. The temple is a penyawangan or place to worship other sacred sites.
From Taman Ayun, the compass heads towards Jatiluwih, where without a doubt we will admire and enjoy a beautiful view of rice paddies that cover the entire landscape. WiThe name of Jatiluwih is made up of two words, Jati which means truly and Luwih which means beautiful, good, special, beautiful.
From Jatiluwih, we will go to Bedugul where we will visit the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple, the famous temple that stands in a small foundation located on the shore of Lake Beratan , that has a beautiful landscape with the lake and the mountains as a backdrop. It is without a doubt, it is one of the most photogenic temples in all of Indonesia. This temple is dedicated to Dewi Danu, goddess of waters.
We will close the visit on this fantastic route and end the day watching the sunset at the most famous and photographed temple in Bali, the Pura Tanah Lot. Torn off the ground on a stone pedestal sculpted by the incoming tides, the lonely black towers of the Tanah Lot and the plumes of foliage shed by the cliffs recall the delicacy of Chinese painting. The Pura Tanah Lot or the Temple of Earth in the Middle of the Sea was built in the 16th century. Then we return to the hotel.
After breakfast, we start the tour with the visit to Tenganan Village, located in the northwest of Candidasa. Tenganan is a symmetrical village of Bali Aga with walled houses and unique handicrafts. Here we can see the way in which the true Balinese society lives its daily life through the traditions that have kept out of the external cultural influences.
The next visit will be Virgin Beach, a hidden beach difficult to find and the only white sand beach in this area of East Bali. Locals call it White Sand Beach. There we can relax, enjoy some fresh fish in the beach bars on the shore or sunbathe.
Finally, we will visit the temple of Lempuyang. Upon arrival, the temple will greet you with its gratifying panorama that extends into infinity. On a clear and sunny day, you will be able to contemplate the mountains, the city of Amlapura and Mount Agung, an incredibly beautiful sight. This temple is called the gates of heaven because it is located on a hill. With the gate and the volcano in the background, this photo has become famous for its beauty. Then we returned hotel.
After enjoying your last breakfast on the Island of the Gods and according to the time of your flight, you will have the transfer to the airport to go to your next destination.
